You will be amazed at how much easier it is to have consistently precise seam allowances with the Purple Hobbies Edge Guide. Each notch on the Edge Guide Base is 1/8 in. so you can easily switch between 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 up to a 1 inch seam allowance. The T-Bar has notches on it every 1/8 inch to make it easy to see when your fabric is exactly 1/4 in., 3/8 in. etc from the edge. This tool is excellent for sewing straight seams and for edge stitching for handles for bags. There is also a Narrow Bar that allows you to precisely stitch curved seams. This is great for handbags with a curved top or quilt blocks with curved pieces. The Edge Guide Tool comes with the following items: Edge Guide Base (with 1/8" increments for precise positioning.), T-Bar for sewing straight seams, Narrow Bar for sewing concave curves and straps, Spacer with a tiny hole in it to position your Edge Guide Base, and 6 reusable, residue free removable sticker dots (these are needed if your sewing machine doesn't have two accessory screw holes). The tool was originally made for sewing machines with two holes for attachments (many of the semi-industrial machines have two accessory screw holes and so do Featherweight machines) but it can be used with any machine with a 4 1/2 inch or larger throat plate with the reusable sticker dots that are included.
