Brown Bag Dealers Choice Mystery Kit - Template with Options

This kit is for the 2025 Dealers Choice Brown Bag Mystery Quilt. The mystery quilt finishes at approximately 50" x 66" as kitted. Your bag contains 6-3/4 yards of fabric! You will receive only the cutting instructions in your kit. The first clue for the mystery will be released on Saturday, March 15th. Clues will be mailed to all customers. While you're waiting for your printed copy of the clue to arrive in the mail, you'll have the option of watching a video of the clue in a private Facebook group that we organize for all of the mystery quilt participants. Instructions for joining this private Facebook group will be included with your kit. The clue instructional videos will be done by Karen Montgomery who is the designer of the mystery quilt pattern. Clues will be released and mailed every two weeks after that. There are five clues in the mystery.

The kit includes the fabric for the quilt top with enough extra fabric for a scrappy binding and possibly some scrappy pieced borders. The pattern will be delivered in the form of the clues mailed in March, April and May. Mailing of the clues is included with your purchase at no additional charge. Backing is not included and must be purchased separately. 3.25 yards of backing will be needed.

The designer will be demonstrating the Creative Grids 6" Square on Square Trim Tool CGRJAW7. It is a suggested but optional tool for the mystery quilt. We also have two sets of 50wt Aurifil cotton thread which is our favorite piecing thread. Both sets are great colors to add to your thread collection either shades of gray or the classic combo of white, gray and black.

There is a border bundle available for this kit. It includes fabric for an inner border, a stunning border stripe print for the outer border and fabric for the binding. If you use the main part of the stripe print for your outer border it will add a 7.5" to 8.5" outer border to the quilt. The finished size after adding the borders would be approximately 70" x 86". Approximately 5.25 yards of backing will be needed for this size kit. Keep in mind there are options for how you cut the border stripe which may yield a slightly smaller or larger quilt.
