Pantie Raid to Benefit Lakes Crisis Center/Mary's Place - Friday, January 13th through Saturday, January 21st
We will be holding our annual Pantie Raid event in conjunction with Martin Luther King Day of Service. What we're asking is that you bring in a new store-packed package of women's underwear, pajamas, slippers or socks... cute or practical is fine ... every size you can think of because we're in all shapes. As a thank you for your generosity, you will receive a free fat quarter for each package you donate. The items we collect will be donated to the Lakes Crisis and Resource Center's (LCRC) Mary's Place shelter. Pick up a package while you are out shopping and drop them off at RPQS any time between January 13th and January 21st.
Mary's Place is a shelter for women and their children who have been victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. Mary's Place offers immediate safety to affected individuals while meeting basic needs. This is one opportunity to help LCRC in their mission but there are many others. LCRC would not be able to assist families in need in our community without the help of a group of amazing volunteers. They are always in need of additional support and welcome anyone who wishes to share their time, talents or other resources. We have information available to you at the shop which covers the various programs offered by LCRC. Pick some up and learn about how you can help every month of the year!
Winter Wonderland Snowflakes Table Runner - Friday, January 27th, 10:30AM-4:30PM
This is a great opportunity to give a Judy Niemeyer pattern a try. Phyllis will walk you through the process of paper piecing this beautiful table runner. Some preparation work prior to class will be required so you arrive ready to start to sew. Patterns cost is $25.50 and it includes enough foundation paper to complete two runners. We are not planning to kit this project but would love to help you pick out fabric in your favorite colors. The cost for the class which includes lunch is $40 (material and pattern must be purchased separately). Upon registration, you will receive a 15% discount on the pattern and materials needed for the class. Registration closes on 01/21 (minimum of 4 students needed to run the class).
ScanNCut Basics - Thursday, March 9th, 6:00PM-8:00PM
Learn the basics of using the Brother ScanNCut cutting machine including preparing fabric, selecting the best mat, scanning, editing and cutting. If you've been thinking about purchasing a cutting machine and want to see how the ScanNCut works, this is a chance to explore. Cost $10. Attendance for one in this class is free to individuals who have purchased a ScanNCut from Red Pine Quilt Shop. You can bring your ScanNCut to the class if you already own one, but it is not required. Registration closes 03/01 (minimum of 4 students needed to run the class).
